We provide students with a rigorous academic curriculum tied with Proficiency-Based Teaching and Learning (PBTL). This is a systems-level approach to teaching, assessing, and grading students, using an explicit set of standards in which students demonstrate levels of proficiency.
The knowledge and skills required to demonstrate proficiency in a content area are developed and mapped-out by teachers, marking a clear path through the learning process for students.
The Archdiocese of Santa Fe believes that learning is a process. Proficiency-Based Grading shows what a student knows, understands, and what they can improve. Our report card format reflects an accurate snapshot of a child's academic progress and growth in relation to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe's curriculum standards.
